Paul Sieviarynets, my husband, has been imprisoned for 13 months. With no opportunity for him to speak out, it falls upon me to pass on his words to you. These are his words to Belarusian Christians:
“Today everything depends on the Church, i. e. on the Church in the broader sense, as a total group of individuals who believe in Jesus Christ. God will ask us believers concerning our land. Particularly, He’ll ask us about the Church’s actions in Belarus and their crucial role.
In general, the Church is part of society and is responsible for fostering faith. With the Credo (I Believe) there can be no “we can” nor, all the more, can there be “we will conquer.” Therefore, today’s silence on the part of the Church sends out only one message – a general feeling of hopelessness.
Praise the Lord there is the New Life Church (evangelical Protestant) and one sector of the Catholic Church which do not fear to enlighten us.
There are also some other evangelical churches and their leaders that stand out in this matter. There are specific Orthodox and Greek-Catholic priests, pastors and believers who are standing in the gap for Belarus. Every day at 21:00 there is the general prayer being offered and 24/7 continual prayer being passed on to those who pray for Belarus.
But the vast majority of the Church, be it Orthodox, Catholic or Evangelical, unfortunately continues to lower its eyes and gives the impression that nothing bad is happening. Some seek reason in the Bible to give excuse for allowing the existence of even an unlawful and criminal governing leadership, no matter what. We have to remember the Biblical words that we must be more obedient to God rather than to man and give testimony to the truth, suffer for the sake of truth and call out for grace. To some people it matters not what will happen with others. In essence they say: “I have the more advantaged ticket to be in the arch while the flood is raging outside,” – although as it is stated: “If anyone does not provide for his own, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” Belarusian believers, we will reap according to our faith! God wants our country to be free from lawlessness and evil. The events and miracles of last year have given witness to that fact. If we, Belarusian Christians, desire that, then we must, and it is now time that we openly and with full voice reveal the truth, point out lawlessness and defend our nation from evil, and lead people to follow Jesus Christ. God will not cause Belarusian Christians to become free, significant and happy against their will. There are some things that we must do ourselves. And this is the meaning of faith.
You will receive according to your faith, Belarusian believers!
God desires to free our land from lawlessness and evil; events, revelations and miracles of the past year have given testimony to that.
If we, Belarusian Christians, desire this also, then we have to do the following:
- Openly and with full voice speak the truth.
- Reveal lawlessness and defend our people from evil.
- Lead people to Jesus Christ, who speaks in Belarusian.
“Therefore, beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:38).

Павел Севярынец знаходзіцца за кратамі ўжо больш 13 месяцаў. Яго словамі даводзіцца гаварыць ягонай жонцы Вользе, пакуль у яго няма такой магчымасці. Гэта яго зварот да беларускіх хрысціянаў
"Сёння ўсё залежыць ад Царквы. Царквы ў шырокім сэнсе – як супольнасці вернікаў Ісуса Хрыста. Бог спытае за гэту зямлю з хрысціянаў. Такім чынам, тое, як паводзіць сябе Царква Беларусі, і ёсць вырашальным.
Па вялікім рахунку, Царква – гэта частка народа, адказная за веру. Без “верым” ня можа быць ані “можам”, ані, тым больш, "пераможам". Таму цяпер цяжкае маўчанне Царквы азначае толькі адно: агульнае пачуццё безнадзейнасці.
Слава Госпаду – ёсць “Новае жыццё” і тая частка Касцёлу, якая не баіцца свяціць. Ёсць некалькі іншых зіхоткіх евангельскіх цэркваў і іх кіраўнікоў. Ёсць асобныя праваслаўныя і грэка-каталіцкія святары, пастары і вернікі, што стаяць у праломе за Беларусь. Ёсць агульная малітва штодня а 21.00 і кругласуткавая эстафетная Няспынная малітва за Беларусь, ёсць малітвы па цэрквах.
Але большая частка Царквы – і праваслаўнай, і каталіцкай, і евангельскай – нажаль, апускае вочы долу і робіць выгляд, што нічога не адбываецца. Хтосьці баіцца – хаця сказана “ня бойцеся тых, хто забіваюць цела”. Хтосьці адшуквае ў Бібліі апірышча для безумоўнага падпарадкавання любому, нават незаконнаму і злачыннаму начальству ў любых абставінах – хаця сказана “Бога трэба слухацца болей, чым чалавекаў”, і ад абавязку сведчыць пра праўду, цярпець за яе і заклікаць да міласці ніхто хрысціянаў не вызваляў. Камусьці абыякава, што будзе з іншымі – маўляў, маю льготны білецік на каўчэг, а там хоць патоп – хаця сказана “Хто ня дбае пра сваіх, той выракся веры і горшы за нявернага”.
Па веры вашай будзе вам, веруючыя беларусы!
Бог хоча вызвалення нашай зямлі ад беззаконня і зла - падзеі, адкрыцці і цуды летась пераканаўча пра гэта сведчаць.
Калі мы, беларускія хрысціяне, хочам таго ж – тады трэба:
- Адкрыта, на поўны голас казаць праўду
- Выкрываць беззаконне і абараняць свой народ ад зла
- Весці людзей за Ісусам Хрыстом, Які гаворыць па-беларуску
Бог ня будзе рабіць беларускіх хрысціянаў вольнымі, адважнымі і шчаслівымі супраць іх волі. Некаторыя рэчы давядзецца рабіць самім. Менавіта гэта і значыць вера.
“Таму маліце Гаспадара жніва, каб вывеў працаўнікоў на жніво Сваё” (Мацвея 9:38).
Па вялікім рахунку, Царква – гэта частка народа, адказная за веру. Без “верым” ня можа быць ані “можам”, ані, тым больш, "пераможам". Таму цяпер цяжкае маўчанне Царквы азначае толькі адно: агульнае пачуццё безнадзейнасці.
Слава Госпаду – ёсць “Новае жыццё” і тая частка Касцёлу, якая не баіцца свяціць. Ёсць некалькі іншых зіхоткіх евангельскіх цэркваў і іх кіраўнікоў.
